The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has seen a significant growth over the last few years, especially because of the rapid advances in Electronics, Communications and Computer Engineering. It deals with the electronic devices and software applications. It is an interface of chip level hardware and information technology. It aims to produce quality professionals in Electronics and communication engineering to compete globally and excel by carrying out basic and applied research in emerging areas by forging strong industry-institute interaction. Electronics & Communication Engineering lays greater emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental principles and state of art knowledge of electronic networks and devices, electromagnetic field theory, computer fundamentals, electrical energy converters and electrical energy distribution systems, including their protection and communication and control systems etc.
Basic Electronics & Microporocessor Lab
Basic Electronics Lab is associated with the core subject “Basic Electronics”. The objective of this laboratory is to understand the concepts, working and characteristics of different Diodes, BJT and FET Transistors, amplifiers and compensation techniques of transistors. Enable the students to design the circuits with basic semiconductor devices.
This lab is also equipped with various Microprocessor kits which help the students to enhance their knowledge about various processors such as 8085,8086 and microcontrollers.
Electronic Workshop & Project Lab
Electronics workshop is special and well equipped with the latest signal generators, oscilloscopes, digital trainer kits and measuring instruments. Guidance is provided to the students by lab technicians.
The features and facilities available in this lab helps the students to do their projects and enhance their knowledge about the latest trends and technologies. Students are grouped into small teams and guided to do their minor and major projects.
Communication Lab
Communication engineering laboratory focuses on training the students in both analog and digital transmission/reception of signal. Learning the concepts, with small applications give them plenty of joy and real motivation towards their studies. The lab is equipped with fiber optic trainer kits and modules to enable the study of components of an optical communication system.
The students perform experiments to study the characteristics of optical sources (LED & LD) and optical detectors (LD & APD) and optical fibers. Lab is also equipped with antenna equipments which enable the students to know about antenna communication techniques.
